At the Roni LifeWorks Training Center in Tacoma, Washington, founder Dr. Jocelyn “Dr. J” Perkins-Enabulele serves as a certified trainer and leading authority on community advocacy, educational environments, and workplace wellness. As a recognized expert in trauma-informed care, domestic violence, and sexual assault, she has provided vital outreach to survivors for over 25 years, testified as an expert witness in court, and conducted more than 100 professional workshops nationwide. Her extensive leadership includes establishing one of the first African American domestic violence outreach programs in Texas, managing a major crisis hotline, and designing residential services for at-risk youth and unhoused individuals across Texas, Arizona, and Washington.

While deeply committed to her work within Black and Brown communities, Dr. J has counseled and trained diverse populations across the country, including members of the LGBTQ+ community and incarcerated offenders. Her impact also extends internationally, with over a decade of outreach in Lagos and Benin City, Nigeria, educating women and youth on health, wellness, and human trafficking prevention. Blending decades of frontline advocacy with academic excellence, Dr. J has also served as a certified faculty member at the University of Phoenix since 2005 and has taught master’s-level counseling courses at City University in Bellevue, Washington.
